Post: Becoming a Middle School English/ELA Teacher in NYS

I am currently a TA in my local school district faciliating
a literacy program at a middle school. I come from a
Journalism and PR background. In December I will be
completed with my Master's in K-8 Elementary education and
have passed all of my state certification exams. I have
taken them on my own through an Individual pathway. I am
awaiting the results of the content exam I took in
October. My desire is to become an English/ELA teacher at
the middle school level. I have been gaining classroom
experience by TA'ing, but am a little apprehensive about
creating lesson plans and maintaining the curriculum.

Am I making it out to be more difficult that it really is?

I would greatly appreciate any advice anyone could give to
me. I want to start applying for teaching jobs next
    semester.

    Thank you!
