Hi Sonia,
I am in the same boat as you! I worked in PR and Journalism
for 3 to 5 years and wanted a change. I always loved working
with children, so I got a job as a TA which has working to my
advantage. I have been able to get my master's in Education
through Grand Canyon University in less than a year and I
have so far passed all of my NYS State certification exams.
I am waiting for the results of my content test. Due to my
TA position I have been able to fulfill my student teaching
at the school I work at.
I have been getting the classroom experience I need and have
learned that with my background, I want to be a middle school
English/ELA teacher. But once january hits, I want to start
looking for jobs, but I wonder how hard it will be to get a
job!
Good Luck!!
