Re: IF The Tassone;Gluckin, multi million dollar scam on the
Posted by RoslynSchools did fall under the RICO : relavece for amendi on 5/16/08

    Relavence for amending RICO law,
If the Frank Tassone and Pamela gluckin crimes did fall under
the RICO ACT, I dont think they would be collecting their
$$300.00 + pensions from the NYS Retirement fund(Article in
Newsday last week) while serving their time in prison. The
very same entity funded by people they had been
in "collusion" to rob, and in the grandest scheme to defraud
the public trust and taxpayers for so long. They have direct
deposit in their bank accounts so when they get out, which
they will, Tassone and Gluckin will be no financially worse
for wear, and go on living in a high end, golf and lifestyle
community with excellent amenities. They will most likely
flock together with their cronys and their close knit circle
of friends from their HeyDey, their friends and family who
were allowed in on the action in return for being loyal by
    keeping their mouth shut. BUT..................
If their crimes fell Under the RICO ACT, I would take a guess
that outcome would have been much different and collecting
their pension would not have happened. In the 1970's when
the RICO ACT was made, it was tailor made to put an end to
organized crime families and specifically the crimes of those
organized crime families, focusing heavily on drug and
prostitution rings, protection money, and those things that
the mob was doing in the 1970's, So specific is the law to
these crimes, that its easy for the defense lawyer to make a
case that the crimes committed by Tassone and Gluckin, even
though "Collusion" was proven in that case,
the most important thing to make a crime fall under the RICO
ACT, their crimes do not involve prostitution or drugs. That
is why the Tassone,Gluckin Case: Found with Conspiracy to
commit a crime, the entire network of people involved was
exposed and charged with crimes themselves, an accountant
firm was the corrupt link in the "crime prevention" chain
that allowed this corruption to flourish into the
multimillions being stolen unnoticed, in return (let me take
a wild guess) for "being put into the New York State
retirement fund" as employees of the school district when the
truth is, the accountant firm was an outside seperate
business entity(as required by law) hired to do an to audit
of the district finances to prevent the very corruption they
were covering up for a pay back. A payback that meant when
they reach retirement age, they would get a pension from the
NYState Retirement fund. A pension they do not deserve.
A pension that they received for helping to facilite the
grandest theft in school corruption and possibly of all
public funded entities in modern history, Done by a trusted
Superindendent, And an accounting firm that you would expect
to have ethics and dignity for their profession, but instead
actually helped doctor the books taking part in this
multimillion money laundering scheme against the public trust
and with taxpayers money, in return for a payback.

That is why the RICO must be updated from the mob crimes of
1970's to the the types crimes in the new millenium that are
defrauding the public trust, and stealing taxpayers money in
    the multimillions.
