I've been sort of disappointed at the lack of response so far.
I sent out resumes to about 50 schools. I've received one set
of interviews.
The new online application system on TeachNYC is like tits on a
bull ... useless. I submitted my application in February, and
they are still reviewing applications. That means, I can't use
the on-line system to apply for openings until I'm approved.
If I don't receive any more responses by the middle of June,
I'll make some personal visits. But again, that's hit or miss.
I'll be certified to teach Math 7-12, but this process is a
bigger pain in the neck than I thought.
Then again, I've primarily submitted resumes to middle and high
schools in district 26, 25, 24, and 28.
